Ninja Kita

My entry for the Naruto Build-A-Ninja Sweepstakes. I didn't win, but oh well. I had fun finally putting her on paper, though I don't like her story. I had everything done by the first deadline (before the extension) so the written part didn't get as much work and I didn't get to draw her using her jutsu like I really wanted. I might later for the fun of it. I also left out her Kawii_Neko_no_jutsu that is in my other fanart because I thought it would be too goofy and wouldn't fit her story! Now that I think about it, I didn't expand her story because I figured the judges didn't want to read a book so I kept it short and more to the point. Funny how most of the other entries (especially the winners) where long. Ah well.

Background:
A solitary girl known only as Kita, she roams the country sides alone. She was abandoned at a young age when her village was completely destroyed leaving her the last of her blood. Very few knew the truth of her supposedly deceased blood-line due to the reactions it caused. Her people had learned an in depth bond with the beasts they had once only summoned that had left them with the ability to shift between two life forms; human and dragon. Though the power hungry were easily delt with, it was the people who saw them as monsters that remained a threat. It was these misunderstanding people that wiped them out. Kita had lost everything before she had even received any training, thus she could not control the morph brought on by intense fear or anger. This caused her to avoid other humans as much as possible. When she turned seven, a dark figure entered her life claiming he could teach her. His reptilian eyes gave her comfort away from the normal humans. Under her trust, he revieled himself to be of the dragons her people had once worked with. She saw him off and on for years until she had mastered enough to be on her own. Now nineteen, she enjoys practice fighting with and without her weapons and despite her solitary living she loves to party. She has her preferences depending on her mood; Sand village for loud music parties (Sand crew throws wild parties) and Konoha due to excessive kawaii guys to party with.

The first village Kita learned to trust was Konoha. It was closer to the old ruins of her village, thus she tended to be in it's vacinity most often. To avoid questioning she tried to stay out of sight, but it was easier intended than it was followed through. She was often attracted by ninja practicing various jutsu and the occasional fights involved in a mission. She slowly introduced herself to some she found practicing, tending to lean toward the groups consisting of guys her age. At one such meeting she was asked to appear the following day and was met by the Third Hokage. He explained their concern for her constantly being out alone and expressed the intent to help her. Kita was very slow to reveal anything to him about what she was, only to find that he recognized the village she referred to and knew of the techniques supposedly lost with it's destruction. And mostly importantly to her, he knew of the dragon form and acted no different to her than when he thought she was pure human. With the Third's promise that he wouldn't reveal what she was, Kita allowed herself to be shown around the village. She was surprised to find word of her had spread so quickly from the few she had already met and that so many of them were interested in meeting her (the guys to her delight!). Kita was further surprised to be informed that she would be welcome to join the village, but she declined not ready to be constantly surrounded by people. She remained for the day quite enjoying the attention, and before leaving she recieved a band bearing the Konoha symbol with 'Ally' beneath it and was told she could consider the village home at any time.

Kita first encoutered Gaara and his siblings on their retreat home after the attack on Konoha at the finals of the Chuunin Exam. She found them in the evening; Temari away getting water, Kankurou passed out, and Gaara sitting alone. She was met with much suspicion considering they're previous activites and her arm band. None of them had much chakra to do anything so she was given a chance to prove herself. Healing the three of them proved enough and she accompanied them home to the Sand village. During the few days she stayed in the village, Gaara discovered her practicing among the outer cliffs and saw her level two transformation. Kita was surprised to learn of the Shukaku and Gaara's similiar rejection because of it. Kita continued her practicing and found Gaara interested in giving her targets to work with. She turned to her ability to blend chakra. She redirected attacks she didn't dodge, using Gaara's sand to block his attacks and even turn some back against him. Kita quickly found sand manipulation to be quite draining and was quickly lost control of the constant onslaught. Seeing such a weakness in her defense, Gaara formed a smaller sand gourd similiar to his own and gave it to her to learn to protect herself with. Rather exhausted, Kita returned to the village for the night before returning to the outside alone. Not far from the entry to the village, Kita accidently intercepted a Mist Ninja about to sneak in. She wasn't aware of his intentions, but was forced to subdue him when he declared she must die for being a witness of his attempt. Returning with his body to the Sand village, Kita was informed of the threat he possed and was given the Sand symbol on the armband.

She has also caught the attention of Orochimaru. After word spread of her taking out the Mist Ninja at the Sand village, Kita was made a target by many others of the Mist and it was during a fight against three of them that Orochimaru first saw her. Nothing she did overly impressed him for how easily she handled her attackers, but when she was nicked with a poisoned blade he considered it an easy way to acquire a new test subject. Thinking herself alone against her remaining opponent she entered level one of her Blood Spirit Transformation and was beginning level two when the charging ninja exploded in blood. She fell to her knees, rapidly weakening, and realized the presence behind her. She started attempting a defense attack, but froze when she met gold reptilian eyes and passed out from the poison. She was taken back to Orochimaru's hideout where Kabuto administered an antidote where it was realized the poison was exclusive to the Mist village had not previously been fully cured. Kita gained enough strength from the first treatment to further her transformation enabling her to endure and Kabuto was able to determine the second half of the cure. Kita spent two days in and out of conciousness through the whole ordeal, but her recovery was far more rapid.
Once she was ready to leave, Orochimaru requested a full demanstration of her abilities. Kita was hesitant due to prior rejection of her dragon form, but she agreed and was taken to the open area at the lowest level of the hideout where captives were held. There was not much light to see her opponents, but none of them required any level of transformation. Until she thought she was finished and Kabuto informed her there was one more. This one used the shadows to move and required an inhancement to level one for inhanced visibility. He further produced a sword that took her to level two in order to counter because she didn't have her naginata since she was told none of her opponents would have weapons. With far more difficutly that she was accustomed to, Kita managed to take her opponents sword only to have him receed into the shadows. There was a rush of smoke and she became away of large presence before being rushed by a massive snake. Plunging the sword in the ground beside her, she raised her hands to the serpent and it slowed in hesitation before dipping it's head to place it's snout into her hands. Kita turned around snatching up the sword bringing it up at her opponent and froze holding the blade to Orochimaru's throat. She dropped the blade realizing it was him and backed away. She was praised in her surprising ability to wield the Kusanagi as she was led back into the upper chambers. Kita then recognized the strain Orochimaru took in order to test her. She had not previously seen that his arms had been wrapped due to injury, though she found him curiously unwilling to explain the initial cause. Before departing she made an attempt to heal him, but strangely found she could do little other than numb the pain. Kita then delivered copies of the antidote to the Mist's previously uncureable poison to Konoha and the Sand village.

A naginata personalized to her chakra that appears as a short sword, but extends to full length at her command
Superior Dragon Throwing Stars

Techniques:
Winged Shadows - a genjutsu that creates a mass of cat-sized solid black dragons that seem to swarm from the ground around Kita's feet (simialar to bats) to mask her from view, throw opponents off gaurd, or appear to attack and drive someone away
Desert Dragon - using the sand given to her by Gaara that is mixed with his own chakra, Kita uses her Chakra Blending ability to move and control the sand (and collect that surrounding) to form a massive dragon. Mostly used for a quick distraction, she gains more control the more the technique is used
Introduced from Draconic blood to humans at completion of spirit bond -
Chakra Blending - the ability to combine ones chakra into anothers, commonly used to control or alter another's attack
Advanced Healing - can heal most injuries and illnesses in others quickly and completely. Specialty of her blood line, but with the down side that it cannot be used on one's self. Rapid self healing can only be done by sleeping in level three of Blood Spirit Transformation.
Blood Spirit Trasformation - various levels of change between human and the form of a silver haired red dragon. Her most commonly used level inhances her senses and strength, is recognized by her eyes turing reptilian and her hair to silver. Second level changes her hands and feet to red talons and also gives her a tail. Level three is the full dragon form. Wings can be formed with in level one and two at will.
